Cologne's Melodic Techno Pioneers
Founded in 2008 by Denis Lihotzky and Max Keck in Cologne, Germany, Bergwacht emerged from a passion to fill a void in the local underground electronic scene. Inspired by their roots in the Oberbergischer Land—hence the name "Bergwacht," meaning "Mountain Rescue"—the duo launched a monthly event series at the iconic Artheater, spotlighting melodic techno.
