Der Turnbeutel is a vibrant electronic music label based in Hamburg and Bremen, Germany, championing groove-driven sounds from northern German talent and beyond.
Founding and Evolution
Launched in 2010 by Gwen Simon and Henning Schmidt, the label originally produced oldschool gym bags for heavy parties and everyday use. In 2011, Oliver Schories—renowned for his productions on Ostwind Records, Parquet Recordings, Musik gewinnt Freunde, and Voltage Musique—joined as labelhead, transforming it into an independent platform for fresh electronic releases.
Musical Vision
Rooted in groove-tinged tech-house, with occasional techno influences, Der Turnbeutel prioritizes fat basslines over pounding bassdrums, delivering infectious rhythms perfect for the dancefloor.
